Buoyed by positive gains for shares of American Express and Chevron, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is soaring Monday morning. The Dow DJIA, +3.85% was most recently trading 1,139 points (4.0%) higher, as shares of American Express AXP, +18.36% and Chevron CVX, +11.58% are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally. American Express’s shares have climbed $18.19, or 18.8%, while those of Chevron have climbed $7.78 (10.9%), combining for a roughly 171-point bump for the Dow. Boeing BA, +10.58%, Walt Disney DIS, +9.12%, and JPMorgan Chase JPM, +10.03% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
