Here’s what we’re watching as markets kick into gear Tuesday.U.S. stock futures are edging down after Johnson & Johnson paused its coronavirus vaccine trials, prompting speculation about when immunization shots might become widely available. Read our full market wrap here.

What’s coming up. Citigroup will report third-quarter results at 8 a.m. ET as earnings season kicks off on Wall Street. U.S. inflation data for September, due out at 8.30 a.m. ET, are expected to show consumer prices rose for the fourth consecutive month. And the International Monetary Fund will release its forecast for global economic growth at 8:30 a.m.: that is expected to show a less-severe contraction in 2020 than initially anticipated.
