The U.S. economy is still on the mend and Federal Reserve policy is designed to help that process along, Federal Reserve Bank of New York President John Williams said Wednesday.

“The good news is that the economy has started to recover and the unemployment rate has come down,” Mr. Williams said in the text of remarks for a virtual appearance. He also noted that “about half of the jobs lost during March and April have been regained.”
