Shares of American Express and Walmart are seeing positive growth Wednesday afternoon, sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average into positive territory. Shares of American Express AXP, +1.07% and Walmart WMT, +2.26% are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.12% was most recently trading 169 points, or 0.6%, higher. American Express’s shares have gained $2.01 (2.1%) while those of Walmart are up $2.50, or 1.8%, combining for an approximately 30-point boost for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include UnitedHealth UNH, +0.41%, Amgen Inc. AMGN, +0.48%, and Goldman Sachs GS, -1.20%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index results in a 6.58-point swing.
