FOXBORO— There’s a new girls two mile record holder at Taunton High School and her name is Emersyn DePonte.

The freshman runner finished second in the two mile at the MSTCA Twilight Invitational at Foxboro High School with a time of 11:49.1, beating the previous record by 18 seconds.

In the 400 meter, Nia Mainer-Smith finished second with a time of 0:58.88 while Caelen O’Leary finished fourth with a time of 1:00:42. Mainer-Smith also finished fifth in the 200 meter with a time of 0:26.6.

On the boys side, Dmitrius Shearrion won the 200 meter with a time 0:22.49 and finished second in the 100 meter with a time of 0:11.42 while As-Anael St. Marc finished 14th in the 400 meter with a time of 0:54.85.

Dighton-Rehoboth 5, Old Rochester 3

The Falcons bested the Bulldogs on the road in a close South Coast Conference contest to improve to 9-5 overall.

D-R took the lead in the fifth inning off a two run single by Myles Mendoza while Sam Watts tossed three and two-thirds shutout innings in relief to earn the win.

The Falcons return to action Monday when they travel to Wareham.


Dighton-Rehoboth 13, Old Rochester 1

The Falcons took down the Bulldogs at home in five innings of SCC action to improve to 9-4 overall.

Kylie Hillier earned the win for D-R after going three innings giving up a run while striking out two and Eliana Raposo struck out all six batters in two innings of work and went three-for-four at the plate with a pair of runs.

The Falcons broke through in the fourth, scoring eight runs while down two outs and added four more in the fifth, with an RBI single by Sabrina Marsella enacting the mercy rule.

Lucy Latour led the way offensively for D-R going three-for-four with three runs and a pair of RBIs while Corrine Braga went two-for-four with a double, home run and two RBIs, Maddie Kelley went two-for-four with two RBIs and Morgan Corey went one-for-four with a grand slam for a run and four RBIs.

The Falcons return to action Saturday when they travel to Attleboro to face Bishop Feehan.


Dighton-Rehoboth 10, Fairhaven 9

The Falcons beat the Blue Devils in a close SCC game at home to improve to 10-1 on the season.

Bryce Downs led the way for D-R with six goals while Marc Thaler had three, Nathan Maiato had two, Thomas Dyson had one goal and four assists and AJ Bosco had one. Goalie Destin Michener made 11 saves in net.

The Falcons return to action Monday when they face Seekonk.


Fairhaven 20, Dighton-Rehoboth 13

The Falcons fell to the Blue Devils on the road in SCC action and are now 7-5 overall.

Lily Nees led the way for D-R with five goals and two assists while Karina Bosco had four goals.
