The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down Wednesday morning with shares of Dow Inc. and American Express seeing the biggest declines for the blue-chip average. Shares of Dow Inc. DOW, -4.59% and American Express AXP, -2.43% are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.96% was most recently trading 330 points lower (-1.0%). Dow Inc.’s shares have dropped $2.33 (3.9%) while those of American Express are off $4.39 (2.5%), combining for a roughly 44-point drag on the Dow. Caterpillar CAT, -1.61%, Cisco CSCO, -2.73%, and Chevron CVX, -1.54% are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
