Shares of Merck MRK, +8.64% and Walt Disney DIS, +2.29% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, -0.07% is trading 118 points (0.4%) higher. Merck’s shares are up $6.00, or 8.0%, while those of Walt Disney are up $3.95 (2.3%), combining for a roughly 66-point bump for the Dow. Boeing BA, +0.40%, American Express AXP, +1.79%, and IBM IBM, +1.39% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index equates to a 6.58-point swing.
