The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up Wednesday afternoon with shares of Boeing and Merck leading the way for the price-weighted average. Shares of Boeing BA, +3.18% and Merck MRK, +2.41% are contributing to the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.26% was most recently trading 150 points higher (0.4%). Boeing’s shares have climbed $7.59 (3.5%) while those of Merck are up $2.10 (2.9%), combining for an approximately 64-point bump for the Dow. Walgreens Boots WBA, +1.29%, Amgen Inc. AMGN, +1.24%, and IBM IBM, +1.24% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any of the benchmark’s 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
