Behind losses for shares of Chevron and Dow Inc., the Dow Jones Industrial Average is trading down Tuesday morning. Shares of Chevron CVX, -1.79% and Dow Inc. DOW, -3.02% have contributed to the index’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.86% was most recently trading 102 points (0.3%) lower. Chevron’s shares have fallen $1.43, or 1.4%, while those of Dow Inc. have dropped $0.85, or 1.3%, combining for a roughly 15-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include JPMorgan Chase JPM, -2.04%, IBM IBM, -1.67%, and 3M MMM, -2.35%. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
