The Dow Jones Industrial Average is trading up Thursday morning with shares of Boeing and Caterpillar delivering the strongest returns for the price-weighted average. The Dow DJIA, +0.59% was most recently trading 266 points (0.8%) higher, as shares of Boeing BA, +3.14% and Caterpillar CAT, +1.37% are contributing about a quarter of the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally. Boeing’s shares are up $9.06 (3.8%) while those of Caterpillar have risen $4.78 (2.0%), combining for an approximately 91-point boost for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are Honeywell International Inc. HON, +1.88%, Walgreens Boots WBA, +1.50%, and JPMorgan Chase JPM, +0.83%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index equates to a 6.58-point swing.
