The Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Thursday afternoon with shares of UnitedHealth and Amgen Inc. delivering the strongest returns for the blue-chip average. The Dow DJIA, +0.84% was most recently trading 301 points higher (0.9%), as shares of UnitedHealth UNH, +3.26% and Amgen Inc. AMGN, +2.33% have contributed to the index’s intraday rally. UnitedHealth’s shares have gained $16.08 (4.3%) while those of Amgen Inc. are up $5.87, or 2.4%, combining for a roughly 144-point bump for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include Visa V, +2.04%, Apple Inc. AAPL, +1.79%, and Procter & Gamble PG, +1.43%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the Dow results in a 6.58-point swing.
