Donors to the Republican National Committee’s donor summit at Palm Beach’s Four Seasons resort traveled to Mar-a-Lago to hear from Trump Saturday night. During the closed-press remarks, Trump predicted the GOP would make gains first in the 2022 midterm elections and then in the 2024 presidential contest due to President Joe Biden’s “unpopular” policies, according to his prepared remarks, which were obtained by multiple outlets.

“I stand before you this evening filled with confidence that in 2022, we are going to take back the House and we are going to reclaim the Senate — and then in 2024, a Republican candidate is going to win the White House,” his prepared remarks said, according to multiple outlets.

Trump also reportedly told donors he hopes to grow the GOP’s voter base in upcoming elections.

“The key to this triumphant future will be to build on the gains our amazing movement has made over the past four years,” he reportedly told donors. “Under our leadership, we welcomed millions upon millions of new voters into the Republican coalition. We transformed the Republican Party into a party that truly fights for all Americans.”

Approximately 360 donors partook in the RNC’s donor summit in Palm Beach, with high-profile figures such as Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel reportedly in attendance.

The former president has alluded to a potential 2024 run in the past. During remarks at the Conservative Political Action Conference in February, the former president teased a third bid for the White House.

“Actually, as you know, [the Democrats] just lost the White House [in 2020], but it’s one of those things,” he said. “But who knows? Who knows? I may even decide to beat them for a third time, OK?”

Later in his remarks, after vowing that “a Republican president will make a triumphant return to the White House,” Trump teasingly asked which candidate is best positioned to win the 2024 election.

“I wonder who that will be,” he said to cheers. “Who, who, who will that be? I wonder.”

Should he enter, he would shake up the race for the array of potential 2024 contenders who may enter the crowded field. Other than Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has made headlines in recent weeks over a controversial 60 Minutes segment suggesting a pay-to-play vaccine deal between the governor and Publix, was the 2024 favorite among CPAC attendees, according to the event’s presidential preference straw poll.

Biden, the oldest president in U.S. history, reportedly plans to run for reelection in 2024.

“The answer is yes, my plan is to run for reelection,” he said during his first press conference since taking office. “That’s my expectation.”

Biden offered a bleaker picture of the GOP’s prospects in 2024.

“I have no idea if there will be a Republican Party,” he said. “Do you?”
