The Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Monday afternoon with shares of McDonald’s and Walgreens Boots seeing positive growth for the blue-chip average. Shares of McDonald’s MCD, +3.82% and Walgreens Boots WBA, +3.46% are contributing to the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.53% was most recently trading 99 points (0.3%) higher. McDonald’s’s shares have gained $7.08 (3.3%) while those of Walgreens Boots are up $1.71, or 3.2%, combining for a roughly 58-point boost for the Dow. Nike NKE, +3.20%, Merck MRK, +2.18%, and Apple Inc. AAPL, +2.45% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the Dow results in a 6.58-point swing.
