Shares of 3M MMM, -2.06% and Goldman Sachs GS, -1.63% are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.25% was most recently trading 69 points, or 0.2%, lower. 3M’s shares have declined $3.53, or 2.1%, while those of Goldman Sachs have fallen $4.67, or 1.6%, combining for an approximately 54-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include Verizon Communications Inc. VZ, -1.69%, Merck MRK, -1.39%, and Honeywell International Inc. HON, -1.42%. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
