Shares of Intel INTC, +2.19% and Walgreens Boots WBA, +1.37% have contributed to the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.65% is trading 177 points higher (0.6%). Intel’s shares are up $1.09 (2.2%) while those of Walgreens Boots have gained $0.62, or 1.6%, combining for an approximately 11-point boost for the Dow. UnitedHealth UNH, +1.60%, McDonald’s MCD, +1.45%, and Merck MRK, +1.46% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
